Clinical Supervision & Consultation for Relational Therapists
Supervision and consultation for therapists seeking deeper clinical understanding, stronger case conceptualization, and greater confidence working with couples, relationships, intimacy, and sexuality. I support clinicians in developing both their therapeutic skills and their identity as relational therapists.
Areas of Supervision and Consultation
Relational Clinical Supervision & Consultation
I provide clinical supervision and consultation for licensed and pre-licensed therapists who want to deepen their work with couples, individuals, relationships, intimacy, and sexuality. I especially enjoy working with clinicians who are thoughtful, curious, and interested in moving beyond technique toward a deeper understanding of the emotional and relational processes shaping their clients' experiences.
Supervision is more than reviewing interventions or discussing what happened in a session. It is an opportunity to strengthen case conceptualization, explore therapist reactions, develop confidence, and understand how our own histories, protective patterns, and emotional responses influence our work.
My approach to supervision is relational, integrative, and grounded in the belief that the therapist is one of the most important instruments of change. I draw from Internal Family Systems (IFS), attachment theory, existential therapy, Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), and the Developmental Model of Couples Therapy. I am particularly passionate about helping therapists understand relationship patterns, differentiation, emotional reactivity, and the complexity of working with intimacy and sexuality.
-
I support therapists in developing stronger couples therapy skills, including understanding emotional cycles, working with conflict, navigating differentiation, and helping partners move from reactivity toward greater connection.
-
Many therapists feel undertrained discussing sex, desire, and intimacy. Consultation can help clinicians develop confidence working with sexual concerns while maintaining a sex-positive, affirming, and clinically grounded approach.
-
Some of the most meaningful clinical work happens when we explore what gets activated in us as therapists. I enjoy helping clinicians understand countertransference, erotic countertransference, and the ways their own experiences influence the therapy relationship.
-
Many therapists struggle with self-doubt, imposter syndrome, or uncertainty as they develop their own therapeutic voice. Supervision provides space to strengthen confidence while continuing to grow as a clinician.
What Working With Kate Looks Like
Deepen Your Case Formulation
We will look beyond symptoms and behaviors to understand the emotional, relational, and developmental patterns shaping your clients' experiences.
Explore the Therapy Relationship
We will pay attention not only to what happens between clients, but also what happens between therapist and client—including moments of connection, discomfort, and activation.
Integrate Theory into Practice
We will connect theory with real clinical decisions, helping you translate models like EFT, IFS, attachment theory, and the Developmental Model into meaningful interventions.
Develop Your Therapeutic Voice
The goal of supervision is not to turn you into a different therapist. It is to help you become more grounded, confident, and intentional in the therapist you already are becoming.
